Sharon Allen

Sharon was diagnosed with AML in February 2004 and is currently in remission. She states that "with your help, we will win! We will continue to help all of those with these diagnoses celebrate more birthdays!"

Chris Alimenti

My name is Chris Alienti and I was diagnosed with Leukemia on November 21, 2006. I've been fighting for about three years now. I am in maintenance right now, so I take chemo every Monday and every 84 days I get a spinal tap. After the chemo I will still have to take pantanimine.

 

Fredericksburg

Logan Ealley 

Logan, 7, was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma in July 2007. He has been in remission for one year and nine months. Logan enjoys swiming in his pool and playing with his friends. 

Jim Clemente

Jim was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in August 2004 and underwent an Autologous Bone Marrow transplant in November of that year. He loves writting for and consulting on his favorite TV series, Criminal Minds and is working towards his 5 year cancer-free anniversary.

Tomas Nichols

Tomas was diagnosed (DX) with Pre-B Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) on 6 September 2007. He was 5 at the time, he went into remission on 14 September 2007.  He enjoys building different things with legos and train sets, and playing with friends and family.     

 

 

Newport News

Jesse Reichenbach 

Jesse, 10, was diagnosed with ALL in December 2007. He is currently in the maintainence phase of treatment and doing well. Jesse enjoys playing with his pets and having fun with his friends. 

Paula Rawles

Paula was diagnosed with Acute Proyeloctic Leukemia in June 2004 and has been in continual remission since July 2004. She has worked at NASA Langley for 27 years. She enjoys cooking and spending with her family. Her message is this: "No cancer of any kind has to be a death sentence! God's grace has made me a fighter. You need to have faith and a group of supporters who can show you that you will survive!"

Mark Isabelle

Mark was diagnosed with ALL in early 2006. Mark is now in the maintainence phase of his treatmentand is enjoying life as a second grader. He loves to sing and dance with his guitar. Mark is feeling healthy and is looking forward to Light The Night!

Mindy Fast

"It is hard to wipe the smile off my face. I completed my two blood stem cell transplants after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma. And now, here I am - partial remission and feeling great. My strength in this journey came from my wonderful family, doctors, nurses, health care aides, friends, my "colleagues" at the clinic, the LLS team and those smiles and encouragement that came from strangers along my path."

Ajani Codrington

Ajani was diagnosed with AML in September 2005. He is now in remission. "I'm glad I'm alive and I don't want any more kids to have cancer, " said Ajani.

While blood cancer resarch has resulted in life-saving treatments that have helped me and many others, a blood cancer diagnosis is still devastating. High mortality and debilitating side effects are still associated wtih the disease and subsequent treatments. We need to continue our efforts to imporve overall out comes and quality of life.

Lauren Taylor Bush

Just weeks after my 5th birthday I was diagnosed with ALL and began a cycle of chemotherapy that would last 2.5 years. Here I am... halfway through... and although it hasn't been 'a walk on the beach' I am feeling great and enjoying remission! I finished Kindergarten this year. I am also thankful for the work of LLS to support my family as we fight and win this battle together.

Betsy Berry

Betsy was diagnosed with 2 kinds of Lymphoma in the fall of 2004. She immediately began chemo and also had a stem cell transplant. Today, Betsy is feeling great and strong and enjoys a purposeful and fulfilled life.

Ashton Legum

In July 2004, at the age of 19 months, Ashton was diagnosed with AML. His treatment began immediately and he as remained in remission since July 2005. Ashton is an upcoming first grader at Linkhorn Elementary School and is looking forward to riding the school bus for the first time this school year. He keeps his parents and sister Andersen busy by being a sports fanatic and plays baseball, soccer, golf and tennis and even made the All-Star team this year for his baseball team!
