Michael McDermott was a fantastic son, loving brother, my amazing partner and most of all, my best friend. Mike lost his fight with ALL Leukemia on September 12, 2014 at the age of 31.
Mike was a light for everyone who ever met him. He was quick with a joke and a smile, and always made you feel welcome regardless of who you were or where you came from. He was inclusive, compassionate and warm. Those that knew him miss him dearly and those that didn't, really missed out.
I wanted to create a Light The Night team as a way to include friends and family on the journey that Leukemia has taken me on, and to help families struggling to make it through their own.
