Welcome

Welcome to the Western New York & Finger Lakes Chapter!

THANK YOU TO THE BUFFALO & ROCHESTER COMMUNITIES!
OUR LIGHT THE NIGHT WALKS RAISED A RECORD $560,000!

On Friday, September 26, 2008, over 2,000 caring participants attended the 9th Annual Rochester Light The Night Walk at the Monroe Community College, Brighton Campus. Their incredible efforts helped raise $180,000 to fight blood cancers!

On Friday, October 1, 2008, over 3,000 dedicated walkers attended the 10th Annual Buffalo Light The Night Walk at Delaware Park. Thanks to their dedication and phenomenal support, the Buffalo walk raised a record $380,000!

We truly can't thank each fundraising participant, sponsor, donor and volunteer enough for their commitment to a cure. Funds raised will help advance our mission to CURE leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO WIN PRIZE INCENTIVES! PERSONAL FUNDRAISING WEBSITES ARE STILL OPEN AND WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL JANUARY 31, 2009. We encourage participants to continue fundraising to reach the $100 mark to receive the official t-shirt, or to $250 or more for higher level incentive prizes! Click Here to view the 2008 Prize Incentives.

For those who signed up but did not attend the walk, please turn in all donations to our Chapter Office. These participants are also encouraged to continue fundraising. You can still make a difference and impact the lives of local patients!

Any outstanding pledges or additional funds may be turned into our Chapter Office. Please include a note with your name and team name (if applicable) so that the funds are credited to your account. Checks should be made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and sent to:

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk is a nationwide evening walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Supporters carry red balloons, cancer patients & survivors carry white balloons. A special gold balloon will commemorate lives of loved ones who have lost their battle against cancer. Together, the illuminated balloons help "light the night" as participants join the fight against blood cancers.
