Our Inspirations

Houston-Downtown Walk

Eve Brooks
Age 11
6th Grader at St. Ambrose Catholic School

My name is Eve and I was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia) on May 30, 2000. I feel so lucky in all aspects. I was at Texas Children's Hospital when I learned about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I like to play softball and ride horses. When I grow up I want to be either a vet or a photographer, maybe even a make-up artist. I am now in remission thanks to the money from the Society for research.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society helped my family with plenty of information on different cancers. Please help support The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

My name is Jarvis and I was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) on August 27, 2007. I was treated with chemotherapy and it was a long and tough road. I am now blessed to be in remission.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has helped me and my family in so many ways as far as support, kindness for my parents, and financially.

The Woodlands Walk

Steven A. Gonzalez
Age 15
9th Grader at College Park High School

My name is Steven and I was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) on October 16th, 2006. I had a bone marrow transplant in February 2007 and I now have energy again to do the things that I enjoy. I like roller hockey, creating computer games and animation. I also like to go hiking and camping with the Boy Scouts and playing video games.

I am thankful for all the nurses and doctors at MD Anderson, who saved my life.
