November 2007, Brian was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma a form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Burkitt Lymphoma is a cancer starts in immune cells, called B-cells, and is recognized as one of the fastest growing human tumors. Living in Dallas area at the time, Brian and his wife needed to leave their jobs and relocate to Houston to seek treatment. Brian received 8 rounds of chemotherapy, 12 spinal taps and numerous blood transfusions. During Brian’s treatment, the family received financial assistance to help cover parking through the LLS copay assistance program and valuable information from the LLS information resource center.
A note from Brian, “You’re raising funds not only for cancer patients their families and even their future families. My two boys wouldn’t be alive today if I hadn’t beat cancer!”
