2012 Light The Night Leadership

Cincinnati & Mason Corporate Walk Chair

Robert E. Dobbs

Vice President, American Financial Group (AFG), Inc., Great American Insurance Company

Bob Dobbs CWC 12 Ten years ago, Bob was asked to lead a team of walkers at Great American Insurance Group.  Bob eagerly agreed to honor the memory of his mother-in-law, who lost her eight-year battle with non Hodgkin's lymphoma less than 10 months prior.  Since that first walk in 2003, Great American Insurance has grown into a national team accumulating more than $300,000 in donations.

Bob is currently a member on the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Tri-State Southern Ohio Chapter.  In addition, he serves on the Community Advisory Board at Hoxworth Blood Center.  Bob is hoping his involvement with both organizations will lead to a faster pace of finding cures for blood cancers.

Bob was born in Rochester, NY, and immigrated to Cincinnati in 1972 to attend the University of Cincinnati, where he obtained both his bachelors and masters degrees from the Carl H. Lindner College of Business.  While at UC, he met and married his wonderful wife, Kim.  They and their trhee children, Justin, Brandon (twins), and Lyndsee, all reside in the Greater Cincinnati area.  In 2011, Justin was the runner-up for the Cincinnati Man of the Year Campaign, raising more than $50,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

When Bob is not working at AFG or chasing down funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, you will find him cheering for his beloved Beacats, whether it be for football, basketball, or men's soccer.  Bob, Justin, and Brandon all played soccer for the UC Men's Program (not all at the same time, however)!
