Make the sale
You will be surprised how much money can be raised by simply selling Plushland Bears, doughnuts, candy bars, snacks or other items at the office, school or anywhere else.
Recycle! Anyone can recycle old cell phones and fax/printer cartridges with Rocky Mountain e-Cycle's Light The Night recycling program. This program is easy and your Light The Night team earns funds for each item collected.
Letter Campaign
Sending personal letters is an effective and proven fundraising tool. It is the most reliable form of fundraising, especially for first-time fundraisers. Letters should be one page long, give a brief description of who you are raising money for and the reasons you are participating in this fundraising effort. Letter campaigns are also a great way to let your contacts know about your fundraising events.

Out to lunch
Every needs to eat lunch, so why not get something more out of it? Plan a group lunch at a local restaurant. Contact the manager in advance to see if they will donate a percentage of the proceeds for every person you bring in to eat. You can invite not only your office, but other companies that you work with or that are located nearby.
Yard sale
This can work for corporate and family teams. Ask friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to clean out their closets, garages, basements or attics and contribute what they no longer want for a yard sale. All of the proceeds can go toward your team's fundraising goal. Corporate teams can ask one employee to host the sale, but all members of the team can sign up to work hourly time slots. You can also use different colored stickers to track the sales if you want to record individual amounts raised.
Hold a lottery
Design a board with numbers from one-100 (or higher depending on the size of your organization or company). Put together a themed gift basket and display it near the board. Ask everyone who comes to the office to buy their favorite number. When every number has been picked, draw a winner.
Working at the car wash
Hold a car wash somewhere in your community. You can charge a set price or ask for donations for each wash. Many people will be more generous if you do not ask for a specific amount.
Going once, going twice
At your office, in your neighborhood, at church, etc, ask people for donations of unique gifts or homemade food and hold an auction (silent or live) to give them away. Display the items with a description (or a tantalizing clue) and hold the auction at a convenient time and location.
Parking space raffle
Sell tickets for the prime parking spot at your office. After a set period of time (one to two weeks) draw a winner and they will be the envy of the entire office. Other "prizes" could include days off or company apparel.
Food for cash
Get a group together to cook a spaghetti dinner, barbecue lunch, pancake breakfast, etc., and sell tickets. Not only will you raise money, but you can bring people together over great food.
Let's play
Set up sports tournaments between groups or departments and charge an entry fee. You can also sell refreshments at the events.
Casual for a cure
Ask employees to donate a set amount in order to dress down for a day. Contact us for stickers so everyone will know who made a contribution to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Make a game of it
Divide members or employees into teams of two or three and offer a prize to the team that raises the most money. For example, gift certificates for a local restaurant, movie tickets, or other incentives. Post the team totals in a central location so everyone can keep track of the fun.
Ask, ask, ask
Most importantly, just ask! Don't forget people like your doctor, dentist, hairdresser, or mechanic. If you frequent their business they may be willing to help with your cause. Always remember to send them a thank you or something they can display to show that they contributed to the Society. Even if they can't make a donation, ask them if they are willing to hang up posters or put out brochures. We can provide you with these materials.
