Northern Florida 2008 walk Details
Be a part of a magical experience! Join us as we "Light The Night" in Northern Florida
Can you imagine a world without blood cancers? It's hard, given how pervasive the diseases are. But go ahead, let yourself envision that world. Because it's not a fantasy. It's a reality within our grasp. Each dollar raised and steps taken by participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk brings us closer to ending these horrific diseases forever.
Light The Night Walk is a 2-3 mile twilight walk that features participants carrying illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Cancer supporters carry red balloons, while cancer survivors carry white balloons and gold balloons are carried in memory of lives lost to cancer. Together, they "light the night" and truly brighten the future for millions touched by cancer. In addition to carrying the illuminated balloon, walkers can earn additional rewards depending on the amount raised. Walkers will enjoy a scenic route through their community, culminating in a festive gathering with refreshments, music and entertainment.
Chances are everyone has been touched in some way by a blood cancer. And recoiled from the touch. No family should have to lose a mother prematurely. Or a child, husband, wife, father, sibling, grandparent, dear friend. Not one of them should have to look in the mirror in the morning and ask: Will I survive? Everyone deserves a lifetime!
Allow yourself to imagine a world without blood cancers. Then take the first step toward helping to make it happen.
do something bold. step up and get ready to walk the walk.
You can make a difference!
