BOSTON LIGHT THE NIGHT
IMPORTANT WALK DAY INFORMATION!

When: Thursday, October 2, 2008

Where: Boston Common, Parkman Grandstand - Gazebo located on Tremont St.

Time:  Check-in opens at 5pm. Plan to arrive between 5 - 5:30pm
              Speaking program begins at 6pm,   Walk begins at 6:30pm

Distance:Walk consists of two laps around the perimeter of the Boston Common  (approx.  2 miles in length)

How do I turn in cash and check donations?
   You can turn in your funds to the Check-in tent.  Remember, you can continue to fundraise even after the walk is over!  Your online fundraising page will remain active until Jan. 31, 2009.

How do I get a balloon?
   Every walker who raises $25 or more will receive a balloon to walk with.  You must check in at the Check-in tent to receive your balloon ticket.

How do I get a t-shirt?
   Every walker who raises $100 will receive a t-shirt.  You must check-in at the Check-in tent to receive your t-shirt card, which can be redeemed at the T-shirt tent.

Is parking available?
   Parking is available in the garage beneath the Boston Common.  

Can I continue to fundraise after the Walk?
   YES! Keep on fundraising!  Send out an email after the walk to your friends, families, co-workers, and donors with the results of the event and encourage those who haven't donated to donate!  Share with them a picture from the event, showing them what a great and inspirational evening it was!   For a sample emails, click here. 

You have the chance to be part of something great. The Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers.  The Society is investing millions of dollars in the most promising blood cancer research available and seeing tangible results that improve the quality of life of patients and their familes. Because of Light The Night, we are one step closer to a cure.

How to Raise $200 in one week. It's simple:

1. Donate $25 to yourself (To receive your balloon)

2. Ask 3 family members to donate $25 (A total of $100 raised entitles you to a Light The Night t-shirt!)

3. Ask 2 co-workers for $25

4. Ask 5 friends for $10 (click here for ideas)
