LLS Awareness Night at the Ballpark - June 2008

The Northern Ohio Chapter held an Awareness Night on June 11, 2008 at Fifth Third Field, and it was a huge success!  The Awareness Night created support for the 2008 Light The Night Walk, and advocated other LLS programs. Both supporters and survivors were present, raising awareness of blood cancers.

Megan Fricke (pictured on the right) was our Honored Hero, throwing out the first pitch of the game!  Megan was diagnosed at 3-years-old with acute lymphatic lymphoma, and is now in remission.  Her brother Zach started the first inning by shouting out “Play Ball” on the microphone.

Everyone enjoyed the sunny weather, watched the Mud Hens beat the Indians 4-3, and joined together to create blood cancer awareness. Read more about Awareness Night and our Honored Hero Megan in the June/July Newsletter!
