The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada's Light The Night® Walk is a three to five kilometre twilight walk that features participants carrying illuminated balloons to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Supporters carry red balloons, while cancer survivors carry white balloons. Participants may also choose to carry a gold balloon in memory of a loved one who lost their battle with cancer. Together, they "light the night" and truly brighten the future for millions touched by cancer.
In 2008 the walk returns to Toronto's historic Queen's Park. Starting and finishing in Queen's Park, participants will walk with illuminated balloons past Toronto's Princess Margaret Hospital and SickKids. Beyond the walk, participants are treated to a fun-filled family evening. Music, clowns and children's games will entertain, while food and drinks are provided for all participants.
