Glossary of Fundraising Terms:

Fundraising Team: A group of friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and whoever else is committed to raising money for our mission!

Kick-Off: An official start to the fundraising season!  A fun site-wide celebration, and a chance to meet some of your fellow fundraisers and receive important information about your Walk.

Internal Kick-Off: A kick-off that comes to you!  A Light The Night Staff person will visit your company office or home to host an internal kick-off for your friends, family, co-workers, and anyone else interested in learning more about LLS and the Light The Night Walk.  A brief presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session and the opportunity to register.

Wrap Event: A creative event used by fundraisers to generate additional revenue/donations. (Examples: BBQ, Bake Sales, Car Wash, LLS "Relentless" bracelet sales, etc.)

Dress Down Days: A fun wrap event that consists of selling "jeans days" at work.

Letter-writing Campaign: A simple and easy way to raise money.  Draft up a personalized letter and send it to friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Then watch the donations roll in.

Matching Gifts: Some companies will match their employees donations to a charitable cause.  Contact HR or visit www.matchinggifts.com/lls to find out if your company matches.
