FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where does the money raised for the Light The Night® Walk go?

75% of funds raised directly support our mission! All funds raised in Canada stay in Canada.

How long is the Walk?

The walk route is approximately 5 kilometres.

Can I drop off my pledges ahead of the Walk?

YES!   In fact, we strongly advise you come to one of our bank nights to drop of your individual or team pledges and pick you your clothing incentives.  You will also be able to pick up your packages at bank night.

Edmonton Bank Night - Monday, September 15, 4 pm to 9 pm @ the Edmonton Office.

Calgary Bank Night - Monday, September 22, 4pm to 8 pm @ the Calgary Office

What happens if I receive pledges after dropping off my money at bank night?

If you collect more pledges after bank night, please bring them along to Light The Night® and you can hand them in on the night of the event.

I’m bringing my family to Light The Night®, will my children also get to carry a balloon?

Participants that raise $25+ will receive our illuminated-balloon. These balloons are very special because the helium-filled balloon is attached to a light and a battery pack. In order to protect the park wildlife, we are unable to hand out regular helium balloons without the light. However, if a family of four raises $100 and would prefer to have 4 illuminated-balloons rather than 1 illuminated-balloon and a t-shirt we can accommodate that request.

Can my company become a sponsor or donate an item to the event?

Yes!  Corporate sponsors are always welcome. You may contact your local Light The Night staff member.

Can my company participate as a team?

Absolutely!  A team can consist of co-workers, friends, family, church members, etc.  We supply all of the necessary supplies to have a fun and successful team.

Is it difficult to organize a Team?

It's not hard at all! Once you appoint a team captain to act as a liaison between The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society office and your organization or group of friends and family, we will provide all the materials and guidelines to ensure success in building a successful Light The Night Team.

What if it rains?  Do we still walk?

Yes – We walk rain or shine!

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are allowed.  Please clean up after your pet and ensure that he/she is on a leash at all times.

Can I bring my bike or participate on rollerblades?

No.  For the safety of yourself and the other walkers, we ask that you participate on foot
