Bill Parmelee- Vice President and CFO of National Gypsum

William D. (Bill) Parmelee serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of National Gypsum Company, one of the nation’s leading building products manufacturers.  The privately-held company, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, operates a network of nearly 50 plants, laboratories, mines and quarries throughout North America. 

Parmelee joined the company in 1998 as Vice President Finance and Treasurer. Prior to joining the company, he served as chief financial officer of Qualex, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Eastman Kodak Company. He joined Qualex in 1988 at its founding and served in various positions including vice president and controller.   Parmelee began his career as a senior manager with Ernst & Young LLP.

 Active in the Charlotte community, Parmelee currently serves on the Board and the Executive Committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council, and is on the Advisory Boards of the McColl Center for Visual Art’s Innovation Institute and of Samaritan’s Feet. He is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a member of the Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. 

 Bill is a member of the Conference Board CFO Council, the Corporate Executive Board’s CFO Council and the Business Roundtable’s Fiscal Policy Advisory Committee, and is an Area Director and past Chapter President of Financial Executives International.

 A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Parmelee holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a licensed CPA in North Carolina.
