Thank you for your interest in being a Light The Night Team Captain!!

You are an integral part to the success of Light the Night Walk.
Teams are responsible for 75% of the funds raised during the Light The Night Walk.

There are three main types of teams:

• Corporate
• Friends and Family
• National (Any team participating in several walk locations across the country)

The average team in Southern California raises about $3,000 with ten members.  There are many teams that differ from this average, raising much more.  Our top team last year raised over $83,000 with nearly 1,000 members.  They asked their friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, local schools and businesses to join!  Set a fundraising goal and encourage each person on your team to help you reach that goal.

Each year, the top fundraising teams and individuals receive awards at our Volunteer Recognition Reception.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will mail you a Team Captain Packet that gives you all of the tools you need to create a successful Light The Night team.  In addition, our Light The Night staff is eager to work with you to make your team a fundraising success.  Internal kick-offs are always a great way to get everyone excited about fundraising.  Ask your staff contact to help you plan one today!

There are three steps to registering as a Team Captain:

• Register yourself online
• Contact us and let us know your team name
• Encourage your team members to register to walk on your team by sending them this link: http://register.lightthenight.org/LTNRegistration/app.  Have them select "Join a Team" and then they will need either your name or your team's name in order to join your team.
