New Team Spotlight:
Young CPA's of Westchester
Amount Raised = $13,219

On Friday, October 12, 2007, the Young CPA’s of Westchester participated in the Light the Night event, which was held at the Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, New York.  The Young CPA’s raised $13,219 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Their team had approximately 25 people, and the participants included not only members of the Young CPA’s committee but also their family and friends.

The Young CPA’s is a committee that organizes professional networking events as a way to meet other local area business professionals and to develop their networking skills.  They also reach out to the community by holding or participating in local charity events during the year.   The committee is comprised of accountants as well as financial advisors from various accounting firms and investment companies, with offices located in Westchester County.   Representation includes Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP, A. Uzzo & Company, C.P.A.’s, P.C., Eisman, Zucker, Klein & Ruttenberg, LLP, Merrill Lynch and Citibank.  Robert Winton, a partner with Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP, and Gina Linss, a manager with Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP, are the co-chairs of the Young CPA’s committee.

Within the past year, several members of the committee had family and friends who have been affected by this disease.  With this in mind, the committee saw the Light the Night walk as a good way to raise awareness of leukemia and lymphoma and to help support the fight to find a cure for leukemia and lymphoma.  The group had a fantastic time at the walk and looks forward to participating in future years.
