We are so excited you have decided to be a part of Light the Night 2008!! Fundraising is often approached as a tedious and difficult task, but we hope that through the information and ideas we have to share it will become a fun and enjoyable experience. If you are on a team, one of the great things about working toward your goal is that you will be able to share these challenges and work together to accomplish it. No matter if you are part of a corporation, a supporter of someone who has been affected by blood cancer, or an individual working on a good cause, you are going to make a big difference in the lives of those who are searching for treatments and cures.
We have put together a list with over 130 ideas of different types of events to get your started thinking about activities. They can be large or small, some are more practical like garage sales and sporting events, and some are a little wilder like dance competitions and “dude looks like a lady” contests. Hosting an event is challenging and requires planning and organization for it to go well, but for an individual or group that can take on specific tasks and details, pulling a big event together can be very rewarding. Not only is an event a chance to raise a significant amount of money, but by inviting friends, family, neighbors, friends from the past, people from the community, and really anyone excited about having a good time, fundraising can turn into a party! After planning, organizing, inviting people to participate, and having the actual event, there will be lots of fun memories, and of course, the great feeling of accomplishment.
We are here to help! We have put up all kinds of resources and information about how to organize a fundraising activitiy or event along with tips on how to keep costs down, what to consider in taking on an event, who to contact and much more. If there is anything else you need, we want to know! Keep us involved and let us know how we can help you. We would love to come to your fundraiser or event and share information about our cause and what we are all working toward. We just appreciate what you are doing, and look forward to having fun working with you to make your campaign a success!
