“In April of 2005 I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was a patient at Overlook Hospital in Summit NJ where an MRI revealed a mass located on the left frontal lobe of my brain. Following surgeries to try and remove the mass, I underwent chemotherapy with a combination of rituxan and methotaxeate. I went into remission in September of 2005.
Now, I am a First Connection Volunteer with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society(LLS), helping individuals who are currently going through treatment. I have also been involved with Light The Night as a Bright Lights club member, raising over $1,000 for LLS. I am presently a volunteer at the V.A. Medical Center’s Oncology Department in East Orange. As a volunteer, I provide support to Veterans suffering from cancer and awareness as to what LLS offers and stands for.
I enjoy hiking, canoeing, spending time with Ingrid and our two dogs Cody and Lance, who is named after Lance Armstrong who gave me the strength and inspiration through my treatments.”
