To see Bryna with friends one would never guess she was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of two. She's battled this ugly disease since 2004 and thought it was gone until Valentine's Day of 2008 when the relapse not only occurred, but showed that she has a rare form of ALL called Philadelphia Chromosome Positive which makes the cancer more aggressive. Bryna not only battled and won the first round of ALL, but bravely went on to fight Valley Fever for another year. Now that the cancer is back, the best option is another life threatening process - - a bone marrow transplant. The medical teams quickly tracked down a donor and the transplant was scheduled for July 2008. Bryna wasn't aware of all the challenges but keeps focusing on celebrating her 8th birthday on March 28, 2009 in Disneyland.

| Gabriel Fernandez |
|
As a baby, Gabriel loved to be outside. When he hit the terrible two's, we had to watch him like a hawk. We were amazed at the strength in his arms, legs and hands as he climbed his way onto the counter tops. Gabriel is also fascinated with airplanes, trains and roller coasters, his favorite being trains, and Thomas the Train is his favorite.
Shortly after he turned three, we noticed a small lump on the right side of his neck in the are of his lymph nodes. We watched it closely thinking that it would soon go away, but it seemed to be growing larger. Though he did not display and flu/cold like symptoms or act as if he was sick, we took him to the doctor and received the devastating news that changed our family's life forever.
Gabriel started his chemo treatments at the hospital with a course of treatments at home between hospital stays. The most difficult was the home treatment of injections and medications that would often make him sick.
That was just a little less than a year ago and today Gabriel is in remission. To look at him now you would never know that he was sick at one time. He now loves to go camping, fishing, exploring and is extremely active and full of energy. With prayers, Gabriel will stay healthy.
