Jacqueline London - WKMG Local 6 News Anchor
Jacqueline London is a familiar face to many in Central Florida.
As a Local 6 news anchor, she has dedicated herself to providing news that's accurate, important and relevant to people's lives. During her career at Local 6, she has appeared on many station newscasts ranging from early morning to late evening.
Starting as an anchor on the Local 6 morning show in 1997, Jacqueline helped many start their day off the right way. She soon added anchoring Local 6 News at Noon to her responsibilities. Not long after that, big changes were in store for the up-and-coming anchor.
Jacqueline chartered new territory becoming the first African American woman to solo anchor an evening newscast in Central Florida, Local 6 News at 5:30PM. She remains in this position and also co-anchors Local 6 News at 11PM with Bob Frier, which is the number one newscast at 11PM in Central Florida.
Among her numerous accolades, The Orlando Business Journal voted Jacqueline, "Best Local News Anchor" in the area.
Jacqueline received her journalism and mass communications degree from the University of Iowa and began her television career in Moline, Illinois. Within six months she progressed from reporter to anchor.
Jacqueline enjoys spending her free time traveling and relaxing by the water. Having moved here from Chicago, Jacqueline says the people here are just as warm and inviting as the wonderful weather and she's proud to call Central Florida her home.
Scott McKenzie - Mix 105.1 Radio Host
I was born naked on a cold winter evening in Columbus, Ohio. From that day I searched for a warm place to settle down. It took me some time, but back in 1986 I finally landed in Tallahassee to do the morning show at Z-103. It was there that I met my future wife Fran (she was lucky caller 13). She was born in the summer on a hot day in Miami so she was looking for a cold place to settle down. Being the "yes, dear" husband that I am, we moved back to Columbus, then Boston. Three years of frostbite later and 15 years ago, I got my way and we landed in Orlando. It was after I was hired that I met Erica. We instantly had "a thing" as far as chemistry goes and we knew it was going to be fun to be on the radio together every day. Erica didn't want to have any children though, so my wife and I had a baby girl back in 1991. She's older than that now.
Fifteen years doesn't make me an Orlando native, but I couldn't picture living anywhere else. We love to kick back on the weekends by riding bikes on the trails. We see a lot of movies, and I'm on a mission to play every single golf course in Central Florida. We try to act artsy when we can, so I'll throw on a sport coat and take my Mrs. to the Bob Carr for the Broadway series shows too.
I'm very grateful that you take the time to listen to the Scott and Erica show in the morning. The opportunity to help you get your day started is something that I never take for granted! Feel free to email me with suggestions, comments or reactions to what you hear on our show. I'd also love to see you at our local public appearances, and hope you'll join us to support the many local charities that Mix105.1 teams up with.
On behalf of my family and coworker, thanks for being so loyal to us for the last 15 years!
