San Diego Corporate - Team Melisa - Girard Securities

Team Melisa is dedicated to the memory of the founder of Girard Securities, Melisa Reasner McGuire. Melisa passed away in December of 2002, following a valiant struggle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Team Melisa raised a whopping $26,050.00 for Light the Night in 2009 - the top fundraising team overall! At age 17 Melisa once said "Dream of change, set goals. Make your dreams become realities. Strive and persist...Appreciate the gifts you have now, for they are many. Now, go and change your world. You can. You only have to try." Her spirit and dedication still endure today at Girard Securities.

San Diego Friends & Family - Team Haggy

Team Haggy and their sub teams were formed in honor of USD Men's Tennis Coach Tom Hagedorn, who lost his battle with Leukemia in March of 2009. Affectionately called USD's Miracle Man, his courageous spirit and never ending optimism will be missed.  Team Haggy along with the USD Toreros and all sub teams raised an incredible $13,663 dollars for the 2009 Light the Night Walk! As Tom once said " We need to wipe this disease out. I know we can make a difference!"

With Team Melisa and Team Haggy's contributions, we are well on our way!

Hawaii Friends & Family - Team F.L.U.S.H. 

Flushing cancer down the toilet!  Team Captain Agnes Nakasone led Team F.L.U.S.H. in raising $5,170.00 in their first year as a team at our 2008 walk!  Team F.L.U.S.H. was formed to honor Survivor Gary Nakasone.

A long-time Light the Night sponsor, Pankow Special Projects continues to show their tremendous support year after year by bringing a big team to the walk - they raised over $3,900.00 in 2008!
