Our Inspirations

North Texas Honored Patient

Charlie Peterson - Age 3 - acute lymphoblastic leukemia - Survivor

Despite countless clinic and hospital stays, Charlie?s strength has never wavered, amazing his parents and older brother John.  It is truly in these times that you learn the strength and resilience of children.  Charlie is not letting his battle with cancer define his childhood.  Charlie greets every day the same way he did before cancer, with a bright smile and undeniable personality.  His courage and attitude is an inspiration to all who know him and provides his parents the strength they need.

North Texas Memorial Patient

Alaina Jean Enlow - acute myelogenous leukemia

Alaina knew first hand the terrible struggle faced by the victims of blood diseases and their families.  She had been a healthy fifteen year old, just beginning her summer vacation, when she got sick.  Her disease was relentless but, with the help of a host of wonderful Doctors and Nurses, Alaina fought back time after time, never letting leukemia diminish her love of life or her ability to find beauty in the world around her through photography.  Two years and seven months after she had been diagnosed we lost Alaina to Graft vs. Host disease following her second transplant.
