Kickoff Celebration
Thurs., August 5 @ 5:30 p.m.
@ Bay 7 on the American Tobacco Campus in Durham

Come collect your fundraising tools for success, share fundraising ideas with other Walkers, hear motivating and inspiring stories from our honored heroes and meet other Walkers, Team Captains and Top Fundraising Club members at our 2010 Light The Night Walk Kickoff Celebration.

Following the program in Bay 7 (5:30-6:30 p.m.), all registered Walkers will receive a complimentary ticket to the Durham Bulls game that evening, as well as pizza from Ricky's Pizza and a drink at the game. (Limited complimentary tickets available, so please RSVP for yourself and your team members by August 1 to liz.miller@lls.org or (919) 367-4071.)

Event Schedule

5:30 p.m. - Teams & Walkers arrive to enjoy food*, music, entertainment, children's activities and more. Remember to take your team photo!

7 p.m. - Teams & Walkers gather at the stage for our opening Walk program.

7:15 p.m. - Teams & Walkers begin the 2-mile Walk through downtown and then return for dessert and final announcements.

Event will be held RAIN or SHINE!

Other Details

*Fees - No fee to participate, but you must raise a minimum of $100 (Champion for Cures!) in order to receive a t-shirt, illuminated balloon and a wristband for dinner at the Walk.

All cancer survivors - ...in attendance will receive a t-shirt, illuminated balloon and wristband for dinner regardless of fundraising level.

T-shirt - Walkers are eligible for a Light The Night t-shirt once they have raised a minimum of $100.

Team Table - Teams that raise a minimum of $5,000 will have a Team Table at the Walk.

Team Tent - Teams that raise a minimum of $10,000 will have a Team Tent at the Walk.

Red Balloon = supporter
White Balloon = cancer survivor
Gold Balloon = in memory of a loved one lost
