Top Teams Overall
Young Hearts
2009 was a BIG year for the Young Hearts, who celebrated their 10th Anniversary with Light The Night! The Young Hearts are an amazing group of students, friends and families who have been participating in Light The Night since 2000. The team is consistently one of the top fundraising teams in the National Capital Area and was recognized by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on a national level in 2008 with a Chairman's Citation Award. The Young Hearts raised more than $40,000 in 2009, bringing their total fundraising to $350,000 in 10 years!
Thalia's Team
This first year team came on strong with a fundraising total of nearly $48,000! Formed in honor of Thalia Warnement, family, friends and colleagues joined together to show their love and support for Thalia as she courageously fought AML. Sadly, Thalia lost her battle in January of this year. The team will continue to walk in memory of Thalia.
Leap of Faith
The Leap of Faith Team walks in honor of eight-year-old leukemia survivor, Faith. This is the fifth year for this amazing team and with their $34,670 raised in 2009, they've raised more than $144,000 in five years!
American Plant
In 2009, the American Plant Team raised more than $34,000 for Light The Night including team fundraisers and sponsorship! In addition to their phenomenal fundraising efforts Katrine Shorb, survivor and team captain, generously sponsored the Walk.
Washington, DC
Ami-Ba
This year's top team in Washington, DC was a brand new team. Formed in honor of Ami, the team was not only a top fundraising team, but also one of the biggest teams at the walk. The weather didn't deter them from coming out to show their support for Ami. Team Ami-Ba was unstoppable. In just four weeks the team raised more than $32,000! Way to go team Ami-Ba!

Karen's Team(MVM)
This top team has been walking with Light The Night almost since the campaign's inception. This year, captained by top fundraiser and dynamo, Margie Cebrian, the team raised more than $17,000. Since 2001 Karen?s Team has been a top team with a combined total raised of $128,120!
Team G-Force
Team G-Force was formed in honor of Gavin, a ten-year-old leukemia survivor and led by his grandmother, the unstoppable Nancy Harnois. They have participated since 2001 and raised more than 90,000 in their time with Light the Night. Team G-Force knocked it out of the park in 2009 raising more than $20,000.
