Volunteer Opportunities

Join in the fun, meet new friends and help find a cure!

There are several volunteer opportunities available in the Minnesota Chapter for the Light The Night Walk.  Outside of participating as a Light The Night walker, there are three additional types of volunteer opportunities offered: planning committee member, in-house volunteer and night of volunteer.

Planning Committee

Planning Committee members play a vital role in the planning and implementation of the Light The Night Walk.  If you would like to be a part of our planning committee please contact Sarah Baragary at (763) 852-3008 or by e-mail Sarah.Baragary@LLS.org.

In-house Volunteers

In-house support is needed throughout the year. Opportunities include mailings, stuffing packets, filing, phone support, collating and other general office support.  Did you know that many companies offer extra paid time off for volunteer hours? We'd love to have you and a team from your business help out with projects. To volunteer, please contact Amanda at (763) 852-3009 or at Amanda.Krueger@LLS.org

Night of Volunteer

Did you know that it takes the help of more than 100 volunteers to successfully run the Light The Night Walk? We would love for you to join in the fun! Night of volunteer duties begin at 1 p.m. with set-up of the event and run in shifts until the entire site is packed up. We ask our volunteers to commit to 3 hour shifts the day of the Walk and will make sure you are given the opportunity to enjoy the festivities and participate in the Walk itself. Volunteer opportunities include: set-up, tear-down, check-in, water stops, route guides, team photos, mission tent, incentives, T-shirts, balloons and more. We will try to accommodate requests for volunteer assignments, but need to make sure all areas are covered. All registered Light The Night Volunteers will receive a special Volunteer T-shirt, food and snacks. For more information or to join us as we make a difference in the lives of blood cancer patients please contact Amanda Krueger at (763) 852-3009 or by e-mail Amanda.Krueger@LLS.org.
