FRIENDS OF WILL/MARKEY CANCER CENTER
Top Team-Lexington Walk
Friends of Will became a team in 2004 following the diagnosis of Will Oldham at age 8. Since then Will's family and friends have joined forces with Markey Cancer Center, where Will's mother Dianna Howard is an oncologist. With help from veteran top fundraiser Brett Butzer, age 14, the team raised $12,889 this year!

"With online fundraising we notified our friends and family through an email message about our participation in Light The Night and our goals for fundraising. We included a direct link to our website...it made it easy for anyone to make a contribution. Our site was personalized so everyone knew how important it was to Will to make every effort to support LLS. Through the generosity of friends and family, we raised over $12,500."

ALEX'S ARMY
Top Team-Louisville Walk
Alex's Army was formed in 2007 after the diagnosis of Alex Kron, now 4 years old. Alex served as the 2008 Honored Hero, and this year Alex's family increased their already significant efforts in a big way. The family teamed up with Hooters to sell paper balloons in 4 states during the month of August. This retail partnership generated more than $25,000, boosting Alex's Army into first place with over $37,000 raised!

?The walk not only raises money to find cures through research, but it serves as a reminder that there are others who have made it through the treatments and are now living happy, healthy lives.
