Light The Night Walk
Matt, 12, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on July 1, 2010. He was one month shy of 8 years old. Matt's first six months of treatment were pretty rough, but he and his family had wonderful support from family, friends, and the community of Brookston. Matt's treatment consisted of daily chemo, monthly port chemo, and spinal taps every 3 months. This protocol lasted 3.5 years and Matt took his last chemo pill September 5, 2013!
He enjoys sports, especially playing baseball and basketball. He aspired to be an architect until visiting a Purdue Federal branch managers meeting, and now he hopes to be a banker! Matt's family enjoys supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) through the Light The Night Walk because it is something family and friends of all ages can participate in. They hope to aid LLS in supporting continuing research and supporting cancer patients who might not have the support their family feels blessed to have.
