Drew was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr Virus Positive Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma in January 2018. This type of lymphoma is quite rare, especially among adults Drew’s age. While in treatment, Drew felt fortunate to have access to excellent healthcare, job flexibility, and the support of family and friends who helped with childcare, provided emotional support, and everything in between. Drew is now in remission.

Wanting to give back, Drew contacted LLS to find out more about how he could raise funds so that future blood cancer patients have the same hope that he does. He is keenly aware that the treatment that he is receiving exists because of advances in research and healthcare over the last several decades that have been funded by organizations like LLS.

Drew and his family registered to participate in the 2018 Metro Chicago Light The Night Walk and rallied the support of his employer, Jason’s Deli. As Managing Partner of the South Loop deli in Chicago, Drew asked his fellow managers to join him. Drew’s colleagues at Jason’s Deli have rallied to support him!  Their goal is to raise funds to advance research so that future patients have access to the treatment that is possible for Drew today.
