Honored Heroes
Our 2012 Light The Night Heroes
Honored Heroes are volunteers with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) who have been affected by a blood cancer. Remembered Heroes are patients who were diagnosed with and lost their battle with blood cancer. These patients and their stories provides inspiration to all who join LLS in creating a world without cancer. "The power of prayer, faith and support of family has helped tremendously," Caesar says. "It's been a difficult road, a rollercoaster of emotions... but I have beat cancer, at least for now, and I will keep fighting cancer and help create a world free of cancer." | |||

Upon hearing the news that there was nothing left for the doctors to do, Joseph took the doctor's hand and said, "When I get to heaven, I'm going to find out how to stop this and email you so no other child has to die from this stupid disease." | |||

Piper continues to make her parents laugh every day with her fighting spirit, silly ways and fiercely independent personality. Her mom, Julie Novak, says, "Piper is stubborn and feisty and know she wants to be a lawyer when she grows up. And we know that one day she will make a great one!" |
