The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual fundraising walk and the nation's way to pay tribute to those battling blood cancer. Participants walk along a two - to - three mile route carrying illuminated lanterns: red for supporters, white for survivors and gold lanterns for those walking in memory of loved ones lost.
Thank you to all of our 2014 Light The Night Walk supporters!
The Mission First Club is a special group of Light The Night participants who put the mission of a world free of blood cancers first. Club members are participants who donate back the prizes they earned from reaching certain fundraising levels.
Mission First Club fundraisers will help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society keep incentive costs low and allow us to put more of the funds you worked hard to raise directly back to the mission. With each dollar you give, we act and lives are changed. For example, if you gift your prize back to LLS, we can provide:
$10 (Level 2) - Helps an LLS- funded researcher grow cells in a lab for a week to understand how well a new blood cancer therapy might work.
$30 (Level 3) - Provides patients and loved ones with a free Be Your Own Advocate guidebook that contains up-to-date information on their disease and resources to help them make informed decisions about treatment options.
$50 (Level 4) - Provides a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
$100 (Level 5) - Will educate 10 employees on how to ease the transition back to school for a child with cancer.
