involved in the community and especially in his church.
Sadly, he was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and passed away in September of 2007. He is remembered and missed by his wife and two children.
His wife, Brenda, expressed her feelings about Richard's impact on her life:
"I have a big hole in the rest of my life because of the loss of Richard. He taught me to reach out and live, to handle what life throws at me. He told his own story in the way he lived. Our burdens were lighten because we divided them and our joys were intense because we shared them. I am left knowing that my world is a more joyful place because an ordinary man with an extraordinary heart passed through my life. I lost my anchor but I did not loose my way."
